Privacy Notice

1. Data controller

El Viajero — travel advisors (“El Viajero”), a travel agency that operates online, is responsible for the processing of your personal data in accordance with the Mexican Federal Law on the Protection of Personal Data Held by Private Parties (Ley Federal de Protección de Datos Personales en Posesión de los Particulares, LFPDPPP) and its applicable regulations.

2. Personal data we collect

When you request a quote from us or purchase a service, we may collect:

Identification and contact data: name, telephone, WhatsApp number, email address, and city and country of residence.
Trip data: destination, dates, number of travelers, ages of minors, preferences and budget.
Data needed to make a reservation: full names of travelers as they appear on their identification, date of birth, nationality and passport or identification data, when the provider requires it.
Billing data, where applicable.

We do not request sensitive personal data. If, when communicating with us, you share health information (for example, accessibility or dietary needs) so that we can handle your trip, we will process it only for that purpose and with your consent.

If you provide us with data of other people traveling with you, you confirm that you have their authorization to do so.

3. Purposes

Primary purposes (necessary for the service)

Handle your quote request and follow up with you.
Book, confirm and manage flights, hotels, packages and any other services you purchase.
Communicate with you before, during and after your trip.
Billing and compliance with legal obligations.

Secondary purposes (not necessary for the service)

Send you promotions, news and travel suggestions.
Ask for your opinion about our service.

If you do not want your data to be used for secondary purposes, write to us at contacto@elviajero.mx. Your refusal will not affect the services you request from us.

4. Transfers

To provide the service, we share the necessary data with travel providers (airlines, hotels, operators, wholesalers, car rental companies and insurers), which may be in Mexico or in other countries. These transfers are necessary to fulfill the service you purchase and do not require your consent under the LFPDPPP. We do not sell your personal data. We may also share it with authorities when the law requires it.

5. Contact channels and third-party tools

We communicate with you by WhatsApp, telephone, email and social media. These services belong to third parties (for example, Meta or Google) with their own privacy policies. The quote form does not store your data on our website: when you submit it, the data you entered is sent to us by email through an external form-submission service (Web3Forms), which acts only as an intermediary; beforehand, an anti-bot check by Cloudflare (Turnstile) verifies that the submission is made by a person, without storing your data; and you can also open WhatsApp with the same message. We use that data only to respond to your request.

6. ARCO rights and withdrawal of consent

You have the right to Access your data, Rectify it, Cancel it or Object to its use (ARCO rights, from the Spanish Acceso, Rectificación, Cancelación y Oposición), as well as to withdraw your consent and to limit the use or disclosure of your data. To exercise them, send an email to contacto@elviajero.mx with:

Your name and a means to reply to you.
A document proving your identity (or that of your representative).
A clear description of the right you wish to exercise and of the data involved.

We will respond within the time limits established by law and, if your request is granted, we will carry it out within the legal time limits.

7. Cookies and similar technologies

This site does not use our own advertising cookies. The online booking search tool is a service of an external provider and may use its own cookies to function. To find out how many visits the site receives, we use the measurement provided by Cloudflare, our hosting provider, which does not use cookies or identify individuals. If we install other analytics tools in the future, we will state so in this notice. You can block or delete cookies from your browser settings.

8. Changes to this notice

We may update this privacy notice. We will publish the current version at https://elviajero.mx/en/privacy-notice/ with its update date.

9. Authority

If you believe that your right to the protection of personal data has been violated, you may go to the competent authority on personal data protection in Mexico, in accordance with the applicable legislation.
